Blender : Skinned mesh and submodel merging

Hello

Blender versions: all
Plugin versions : >1.3.2

Here is the context:

I have a main attachement (modular simobject) which contains my parent armature.

  • Some livery decals are skinned to this armature.
  • Some others are parented to non-armature objects.

I need to export my livery as submodel to ensure that the decals will be merged to my main model.

Problem:

Export as submodel works great with children of non-armature objects. But when it comes to objects parented AND skinned to an armature, the skinning does not work.
So I looked in a gltf file containing a parented child (no submodel here) and they appear to have a ’ “skin”: ’ attribute.
But this particular attribute does not appear in any submodel gltf file

However, the child attribute does appear. So, the object is parented to the armature object but not skinned.

Result:

Skinned children do not move with their parent bones.

I made sure my blend file was set up correctly.

You may try with a very simple file: One bone, one skinned object and see what you have.

Thank you

Hello,

I am not sure to understand the issue here, can you provide us a blend scene with a package that represents your problem ?

Thank you

Hi

I’ve sent the attachement in PM

I have the same problem. When I export as a submodel, the decal object does not move with the armature and the object disappears.
