[BUG] There is no way to remove the exclamation mark and the NEW label from the interface

Version: SU/AAU/WU XX - 1.XX.XX.X
from First Release to SU15 - 1.37.19.0

Frequency: Once/Rarely/Frequently/Consistently
Frequently

Severity: Low/High/Blocker
High

Context: What package? When editing or mounted from Community? In main menu or in flight? etc…
There is no packages. This is the core problem

Bug description:
Every time during an update, NEW icons and exclamation marks appear near airports/landmarks on the main screen and on the world map. Clicking on all the icons is already an impossible and unrealistic task. Is it possible to remove this behavior (as an attavism) or make a button to mark everything as viewed? It really gets in the way and is confusing. Moreover, if you still click on everything, then during the next update everything will appear again.

Repro steps:
Just load the game and look. Provided screenshots.

Hello there @Mugz,

You’d be best off going to the MSFS Forum (https://forums.flightsimulator.com) and contributing this issue there.

Already done in 2021 =D

I don’t think it’s enough to just click on the airport with the exclamation point. I think you have to start a flight there, you might even have to do a flight from the airport. So I imagine it’s working as designed, and your bug report will get rejected.

You might have better luck and make a wishlist post, and ask that

  1. Remove ! points by clicking on airport icons
    or
  2. Remove ! after viewing the world map and having the icons show up
    or
  3. add an option on right click of an airport icon and select remove !

BTW, I like having the exclamation points showing me updated airports. But I understand you’re frustrated by it.

A better option for Removing all ! by pressing one button

Hello

This is not DevMode/SDK related.
This has already been reported on the official forums and probably on the Zendesk platform but has not been prioritized yet.
Adding an additional bug report on DevSupport is unlikely to resolve the problem and will just create more confusion.
I’ll bump the original internal bug report to make sure it stays on our radar.

Regards,
Sylvain
