Cannot refuel or top off my plane

For some reason, I cannot seem to adjust fuel amount, or add fuel, or top off the fuel in my Quickie Q200 aircraft in MSFS 2024 Beta. I cant do it in the EFB tablet, nor the adjustment sphere in the Configure center in MSFS setup.

I cant even fuel/refuel it at the fuel paddocks in MSFS 2024 either.

I can adjust the fuel setting sphere (disc) in Config setup center, and save out, but when the plane boots up in the sim, its always empty. It has about 1 minute of flight time and its out.

I cannot see what might be causing the issue.

Main tanks are are Center 1 and Center 2, with a transfer pump that carries fuel to 1 from 2.

Any idea’s?

Note… I am using the old original MSFS 2020 fuel system, legacy, not the new version.

This is interesting. I have this issue. No way to put on fuel. The DH2 also does this.

Whats crazy is that the keyboard workaround isnt able also, as when you add a keyboard entry, MSFS 2024 creates a new keyboard. You cannot add the command to an already programmed keyboard.

Hello @FlyingRaccoon,

I need some emergency help. I have been stuck on this issue for 2 weeks now. The plane will not load with fuel in it. It is the Q200 by Lionheart Creations. It works perfectly fine in MSFS 2020, but in 2024, it loads with no fuel, about 1 minute of running time. I cannot add fuel via keyboard, it cannot add fuel through the tablet EFB, it cannot load fuel.

It has 2 center tanks, no fuel selector as it has a fuel transfer pump. I use the legacy fuel system, and again, works fine in 2020.

I have tried everything. Any thoughts?

Many thanks for your help. Hope the weather is treating you well in Bordeaux.

Still suffering of this fueling problem. I cannot put on fuel on my plane in MSFS 2024. Works fine in 2020. Plane is set for 50% fuel when loaded, but cannot be changed, reset, added, refueled. At a fuel station in the sim, you cannot load fuel. Fueling shortcut (keyboard fix/Add Fuel) does not work. I cannot get the plane to have fuel on board. What is blocking it?

Legacy fuel system, 2 fuel tanks; Center and Center 2. No fuel selector. Uses a transfer pump to pull fuel from Center2 to Center tank. System works fine in 2020. I tried adding a fuel selector, made no difference. Something… is blocking it from loading fuel.

Hello @LyonHaart001

Is this still an issue?
I checked the Quickie and did not encounter any issue adjusting fuel levels through the EFB.

Regards,
Sylvain

I am having this issue with a new project, which I am brining from MSFS 2020 converting to MSFS 2024.

It doesn’t have the new fuel system (yet), I open the MSFS 2024 EFB, increase the left fuel / right fuel and nothing happens.. monitoring the simvars, I see the fuel never changes either.

In passing is there a new simvar wather tool? I downloaded the SDK DA62 sample and I don’t have it, is there another sample file that has this?

Best,
Raul

You have to download the 3 GIG sample file for simvar Watcher.

I don’t believe there is an update as the file dates for the cs files are October 2024.

Edit: however my Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll is dated April 2025 (SU2 Beta)

Bill didn’t mention if this is occurring while just mounting the 2020 aircraft or editing the project on 2024.

@SimbolFSReborn If you have a reliable way to replicate this, can you please create a bug report and provide us with the project?

Regarding SimVarWatcher, it’s part of the general Samples installer, not the Da62 one, as DA40CGDFQ indicated.

Sylvain

Also to be clear - There are differences between 2020 simvar watcher and 2024.

Copy, will try again tonight and report on a different post.

@FlyingRaccoon

Hello Sylvain,

I just reverified this. I installed a stock 2020 Community Folder version of the Q200 into 2024 Community folder, fired up 2024, and loaded it. It loads ā€˜perfectly’ with fuel system (and sound). Loads with half tanks, default.

I then shut down 2024, deleted the Q200 from the Community folder, rebooted 2024, loaded the streamed version of the Q200, and loaded it into a flight, on the runway, idling. The plane was at 0 fuel, running with just a bit of fuel registering in the tanks, needles on fuel gauges at zero. (It will usually allow you to take off then starves out). I tried to put full in through the tablet. The slider will not increase. But I can type in the gallons amount, and so I tried to put in 20 gallons. It did nothing. Fuel needles still at zero.

My thoughts are, that something is going on at the MP conversion point. The 2020 version runs fine. The 2024 ā€˜Store’ version that streams is broken. They also changed my sound file from the Cap10 to a ā€˜linked’ version of the Cessna 152, which doesnt work as you cannot link to a plane that is virtual, non-active, non-loaded.

Something must be getting changed at the MSFS side when making it streamed…

Bill

Sylvain, I can send you a link to my 2020 Community version for you to cross check. You might be able to find the issue in the streamed version if you have the ability to cross-check the streamed versions system file.

Bill

Remembering what someone said, that it takes a ā€˜lot of work’ for the MP Store to convert one of our 2020 planes to stream, I wonder if its possible for us to make a stream version ourselves so we can ensure that its all working properly. For me, they didnt want to make another version of the Q200 in that maybe it was just an error on their side, converting it to a Streamer. I had to pull it from the 2024 store. What if this is a small issue and can be fixed. What if we could test this ourselves, a way to make a Streamer from our end and run it in the Community folder, if… If that is possible.

Bill

Are you 100% sure that you never submitted a 2020 version that referenced the C152 PCK files? There’s nothing in the streaming conversion process that changes your CFG file so I find it really strange.

This isn’t possible and I don’t think it will be for several reasons:
1/ This process includes encrypting the files and the encryption algorithm cannot be part of the sim executable for obvious security reasons.
2/ Although it has happened in the past that issues were caused by transformations made during the ā€œstreaming conversionā€, we have lately only seen problems related to some code paths not properly handling the streaming itself - if you were able to transform your package into a local streamable version, these code paths would most probably work as expected, hence not allowing to really pinpoint the issue.

I’ll have a look at the streamed Q200 to understand why it doesn’t have fuel when spawning on the runway.

Best regards,

Eric / Asobo

Eric,

I am trying to upload a new build of this Q200. It would be interesting if we could compile a test version for 2024 to see if their newest conversion process might fix the issue with fuel.
This one is Build 1.2.5 not uploaded yet, requested resubmission. This one has fixes to enable the cabin to have the same LOD distances as the exterior.
