Hello,
I think this idea can appeal to a lot of flight model designers like myself.
It is simple : add an optional drag_coef_aoa_table and use_drag_table parameter in the flight_model.cfg file.
When filed and set through the parameter, make the sim use the drag coefficient from this table to be used instead of the one calculated by the sim (Cd = Cd0 + k * (Cl - Cl0) ^ 2).
The benefit would be a better control over the drag polar of the aircraft.
Thanks for reading me.
If i can add to this:
Separate drag and lift tables for the fuselage (X and Z) and tail surfaces.
Also without needing the “stall_” parameters.

Hello,
yes, we are “thinking that direction”

I am very glad to hear this - there are many areas where behaviours are specific and repeatable, and equally many of the old tables would be useful to help us even if they were an ‘optional extra’, not required but to be the primary control of that function if enabled by the developer.
