I second this behavior.

Hello @Verticalsim

When rebuilding your package with MSFS 2024, the new LOD Selection System is used.

So, for objects with no LODs at all, this is likely the reason.
For objects that have LODs defined, it is still possible that you are going beyond the allowed limits.

Please enable the Debug → Debug model LODs window in the DevMode menu and check the size and vertex count debug info:

This will display LOD debug info for each object (you can filter them by name):

Check what’s displayed here when your object disappear.

Sylvain

Basically a 2024 build is similar to the forced lod option we had in 2020. Which was never implemented.
If you did LOD in 2020 with the forced lod option on, and did the properly they would be closer to the 2024 mark. But pretty much all of us didn’t do this.

You will have to relod everything for a 2024 version. It’s pretty extreme.
They did state that this alpha was to check 2020 builds and not 2024 ones. But, everyone cant help but try to get ahead or ball.

I’m just not understanding why a hangar with like 31 verts should need an LOD? Doesn’t that do more harm than good?

I agree. Unless I understand this table wrong, Something like 31 vert should not be a problem.
I always found verts to be insignificant compared to materials and draw calls. But, we get a LOD limit (popped) but for draw calls people can have 20-30 on each object and that’s fine. The statistic profiler will highlight material shortfalls, but nothing as drastic as not displaying a LOD/model.

Anyway, I guess we’ll see how things progress.
