Thanks, I’ve seen that in the 2024 Scenery Editor which is fine, but this post is specifically for the compatibility of 2020 products in 2024 without any adjustments.
I too have found no solutions to adjust, or exclude the grass in the 2024 SDK.
From my understanding is that 2020 packages won’t fully work with 24.’ You’ll have to do some adjusting to make them work with 24’ unfortunately. Especially with the new generative ground system.
Yep, however the MSobo team still want reports of anything “not working” without any adjustments, as they promised “virtually all” would. We encourage you to do the same!
to get rid of the grass i draw a polygon over the area and change the biome to semi desert cities. it gives you the nice short grass
but i agree a default compatibility would be the way to go
Backcountry strips have big problems in default sime as well. Most runways have at least some rock clusters on them, which will send you flying in a not so friendly way.
Rock need to be excluded on runways by default.
i just made my latest 2020 scenery fully 2024 compatible without touching the 2024 SDK.
I got rid of the rocks and bushes on the grass RW or basically around the whole airport by placing a polygone in 2020 and assigned the Biome “Conifer_Cold_Cities”. If you build the package (still in 2020) and drop it in to the 2024 Community folder, the grass will be nice and short and will even react on the seasons
It doesn’t help the “2020 sceneries can be placed into 2024 and are compatible”. Every dev would have to re-upload their package to the marketplace and other stores. That is a lot of work for some people. Fair enough if that’s what we have to do.
I really think Rocks and flowers need to be excluded from runways by default.
fully with you, I am just trying to find workarounds. I have my doubt that everything can be fixed in the next 21 days. I guess we will not come around to touch our stuff to have it fully compatible in 2024 but at least we can start to touch our stuff already in an environment we are familiar with to have them some how ready, and once we are familiar with 24 we can continue there.
They said in the last video they will have an option to remove it but another easy way is to remove them is to add “fall out” aggressively to your polygon and the vegetation get removed.
