Severity:Low
(Low - quality of life, workflow optimization, rare enough to not impact production, etc…
High - critical but workarounds are available, important feature not working as expected, frequent enough to impact production
Blocker - prevents from working on the project, prevents from releasing the product)

Bug description: The elevation resolution of heightmaps seem low. It leads to an almost pixelated look for the heightmaps on my airport in Northern Norway when the sun is low on the horizon. 2020 does not exhibit this behavior.
Repro steps:
Set time and date to 10:35 am local time on November 11 2024, clear skies weather.
Look at apron at my ENSH Svolvaer airport (wombii), notice the stairstepping effect on the aprons. I can provide project if necessary.
I have seen similar issues that only appear in areas without TIN or TIN deactivated, so it seems to be a bug how the underlying standard terrain is rendered with a heightmap overlay. I have however not been able to see this translating into any actual jumps in the terrain you can feel when taxiing. Can you confirm?
Yeah it doesn’t seem to result in any physical bumps. It’s just the underlying terrain bleeding through the pavement textures on top and being rendered very “blockily”. It’s a very ugly artifact for sure. More noticable in the morning and evening hours when the sun hits it at an angle.
On a closer inspection… yeah actually if I look at my taxiway markings especially I can tell that the ramp and taxiways are REALLY uneven with small undulations all in it. That’s a mess. I don’t want the ramp and taxiways to be FLAT, just… get rid of all the wobbles underneath!
