Would it be possible as a third-party developer editing on the MarketPlace to know what API changes are coming with MSFS 2024 so we can anticipate the changes that need to be made to our creations so they can be compatible with the next version of MSFS?
If possible, you can list these changes or if they have been published, tell us how to access them.
Like many of the developer community, we have some add-ons ready to be released and waiting for a while seems to be the best approach: indeed, to put on the market at this time a product for MSFS 2020 would be illusory, few sales would be expected and it would be necessary to make an update in the next months.
Nevertheless, this does not prevent us from being concerned about the work that will remain to be carried out in order to on the one hand grasp a new SDK and adapt to less cost on the other hand, those already in the boxes.
I watched this video several times for the September 2024 Q&A but I didn’t notice anything about the aircraft carrying part around 2024. Did I miss anything?
fs2020 will stay alive for some time, so releasing product both in 2020 and 2024 is not a bad idea.
It may not work for add-ons which uses new features, like firefighting or cargo lift tho.
@Thealx,
Yes I agreed but the sales on MSFS 2020 are almost at a standstill and releasing an addon now for this version would be work that should be started again in a few months.
After the bumps encountered on the MarketPlace at the beginning of the year with our Stearman, I prefer to wait, update and probably release the Super Stearman version for both opus before Christmas
@vVpilotfs,
Well, we will wait until tomorrow to see the news announced hoping that this video addresses a little technique without remaining on marketing banalities.
I was able to see a video presenting the new pre-flight implanted by asobo and I would be interested in having more precise information because having completed the development of our own pre-flight, I wonder what we will have to review.
