I’ve previously done all the work to update one of my local airports and published it to Flightsim.to because World Hub didn’t exist.
Is there a way to get all those changes migrated over to the World Hub version of the airport? I’d really rather not have to go through and re-do all the work, it was a lot of taxiway, runway, apron, etc. work.
Eeeeeeeh. It’s kind of a terrible experience to be honest. It won’t validate for upload unless you spend hours editing it, which includes editing out non-valid things in the xml. For example, you’ll have to remove all terraforming. Rectangles, runway profile, runway materials, runway falloff, runway ILS, apron materials need to be reset, jetways back to default, any scenery objects or simobjects, airport information and deletes.
I tried copying over content from an existing XML, and at first glance in the World Hub SDK, it has mostly worked for me. I copied over the following elements:
Runways
Aprons
Light Rows
Painted Lines
Polygons (used to exclude trees)
Taxiway Parking, Points, and Paths
Taxiway Signs
CarParking did not import over at all.
The other thing I’m noticing is that the materials of aprons are all set to unknown, so I likely will need to clean all of that up before it is valid for upload to the World Hub. However, in the SDK, the textures show up as I had them previously, and with the proper Texture tiling and UV offsets.
I’m working on KDDC by the way.
Has anyone else had further luck as testing continues?
In the scenery editor even in scenery hub mode even the library scenery objects and terraforming will show up. I’m not exactly sure what caused failed validation on upload, because I had to remove so much from my xml before it went through.
I was able to copy runway profile, aprons and their material GUIDs, lines, taxiway (points, paths, parking). It is a very small airport and I do not see myself editing and choosing what to copy over in a larger project.
