High - critical but workarounds are available, important feature not working as expected, frequent enough to impact production
Blocker - prevents from working on the project, prevents from releasing the product)

Hello @ArchaicPillow21

I’m not sure to understand the issue here.
You spawned the DHC-2 and removed the chocks from the Devmode Aircraft “Covers & Chocks” debug while in preflight, and the aircraft started rolling (assuming you also disabled the parking brake)?
If so, the fact that the chocks are then invisible and the aircraft rolls seems like the expected behavior to me.

Please elaborate as I am probably missing something.

Regards,
Sylvain

Hi @FlyingRaccoon Sylvain,

We have reports in each of the individual feedback surveys for Dev Partner aircraft that indicate players are finding in the RTM build that removing the Visual Chocks during walk-around is insufficient.

In many cases an invisible set of chocks remains, thus pinning the aircraft in place during a Cold & Dark start.

Some reports indicate that revisiting the wheels can sometimes reveal said chocks by hovering the Toggle/Mouse pointer. Others state there’s no possible interaction, but at full power with Parking Brakes removed, the aircraft acts as if chocks are in place.

I can locate some of these survey entries for you if the team would like to review them. But two aircraft in particular stand out in the volume of these reports - Inibuilds A400M and Carenado’s C90TX.

It might be indicative of unexpected behavior in the implementation or corrections needed in the Code?

Let me know if you’d like to see these survey posts.

Thanks,

A.J. (on Jayne’s Team)

Hello @CasualClick

I’d rather have one of the impacted developer report the issue here so it can be investigated.
So far, I could not replicate the issue with any of the mentioned aircraft.

Regards,
Sylvain

Ah, well, no point then. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: Ini and Carenado don’t seem to be interested in that. I don’t have visibility into ADO other than the tickets assigned to my studio, otherwise I’d happily cross check to see if it’s been logged through different channels.

"Hello,

I can confirm this bug regarding invisible chocks on the Viking DHC-2 Beaver Floatplane. I am experiencing the exact same issue in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Beta 3.

Problem Description: Upon spawning the Viking DHC-2 Beaver Floatplane at a ramp, the aircraft is unable to move due to what appears to be active wheel chocks. However, these chocks are not visually rendered on the aircraft, and there is no interactive option (e.g., via the EFB/tablet or a dedicated control) to remove them.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Beta 3 (Build Number: [Insert your exact build number here, or state “Latest Beta 3”]).Latest Build
  2. From the World Map, select the Viking DHC-2 Beaver Floatplane.
  3. Load the aircraft at any seaplane base or ramp location (Any Land Based Airport)
  4. Attempt to advance the throttle for taxi (or attempt to move on the ramp). The aircraft remains stationary, as if chocked.
  5. Visually inspect the floats/aircraft – no chocks are present.
  6. Check all available in-cockpit menus (e.g., virtual tablet/EFB, overhead panel) for any chocks or ground service controls – no option to remove chocks is visible or interactive.

Expected Behavior: Either:

  1. Wheel chocks should be visually present when active and should be removable via an interactive element (e.g., EFB, cockpit control). OR
  2. If the aircraft is spawned ready for flight from a ramp, chocks should not be active by default.

Observed Behavior: The aircraft is prevented from moving by invisible chocks, with no means to interact with them and no visual indication of their presence.

Impact/Severity: Severity: Blocker This bug completely prevents the aircraft from being operated from a cold and dark state or any parking spot, effectively making it unusable for flight from the ground.

Troubleshooting Attempted:

  • (If you tried anything, e.g., “Restarted the sim,” “Tried different land based Airports.”)
  • (Otherwise, you can omit this or state "No specific troubleshooting steps could be performed ]

Thank you for your attention to this issue."

Reading the conversation between @FlyingRaccoon and @CasualClick, it looks to me like this issue is content-related, not SDK-related.

It should be reported on the official forums where Microsoft’s Community Team can create an ADO bug and forward it to the 1stP content creator responsible for the aircraft. They can then get support from us if needed.

Best regards,

Eric / Asobo
