Is the VTOL flight system like what the Joby S4 uses, licenseable or is it available for others to use?

Is the VTOL flight system like what the Joby S4 uses, licenseable or is it available for others to use? If I was making something different that is also VTOL, is such a cool system as the Joby available to developers?

If not, can you say what kind of system it is? For instance, is it WASM? Is it something simple? Is it radically complex? Any details?

I was even wondering about making a user friendly ‘helicopter’ system that would be easy for people to use that would react similar to a VTOL.

I was just googling this in ChatGPT and found this;
LIVT and Joby eVTOLs (in MSFS 2024): Will use the new native VTOL support, so MSFS 2020 requires workarounds

I didnt know the Joby uses an Asobo supplied VTOL system. Interesting.

My hopes are to make one for MSFS 2020 then bring it into 2024.
