Context: Users are trying to download the 2020 version from the 2024 marketplace and when they reboot to activate/stream/download it the startup freezes with a ‘Loading unusually long: log saved to Report-loading.toml’ message. This only happens when using the MSFS2024 Marketplace to try to install our MSFS2020 packages. Other publishers/distribution platforms don’t result in the issue.
Bug description: This package is a couple of GB. Streaming it via the MSFS2024 marketplace results in frozen launch. Checking TaskManager shows that download activity eventually halts too. We suspect this is an infrastructure issue.
We’re not sure how this got through initial testing. We actually requested back in November that packages weren’t automatically made available to MSFS2024 like this.
More testing today has shed some light onto what might be happening… I don’t think it is the size anymore. But now that our sceneries are unavailable from My Library I need your help to confirm my suspicions.
We were able to install the large Vessels Core Library from My Library without any issue today*. It was only when also trying to install one of our related sceneries that the 97% freeze happened. These scenery packages are relatively small at only a couple of hundred MB so I don’t think this is down to package size anymore.
Please can you do the following tests at your end as I can’t download the sceneries via My Library (we requested they were made unavailable).
Test Scenarios:
Vessels Core Library installed from My Library with Scenery installed from My Library
PLEASE TEST❓
Vessels Core Library installed in Community Folder with with Scenery installed from My Library
PLEASE TEST❓
Both Vessels Core Library and Scenery installed from Community Folder
WORKS✅ We have confirmed this.
This should help identify where the issue is. I now think that this is possibly due to the Vessels Core Library being encrypted by My Library(?). We had a similar issue in MSFS2020 that stopped our scenery from working because the vessels core library was encrypted. The above tests should help confirm that.
