Version: 1.2.11.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: High

Marketplace package name: none

Context: Airport package, editing in-game

Similar MSFS 2020 issue: not applicable

Bug description:
This relates to the in-game material editor, and specifically the linked materials function as per SDK (link)

Currently unable to drag-drop a material from the list onto the […] Tried dragging different material types, ie ground surface, decals, etc. nothing was applied

Repro steps: Create a new material from material editor, scroll to the linked material section and try to drag another material onto the […] button as described

Try with the Material Editor undocked and the Properties window (where the three dot … are) docked

Thanks- tried many different combinations of docked windows but nothing worked. Besides, I think this is not a long-term solution so I hope the bug can be repro by the Asobo team and rectified

Hello,

Any chance you could post a video showing the issue ?

Thank you,

Regards,
Boris

Hello @Boris - yes of course. here it is: apron_linked_material

here i select a custom apron material and attempt to link an Asobo decal by dragging into the ‘…’ slot

Hello,

I’m not sure I fully understand the issue here.
In the video you uploaded, at 0:28, we can see the “…” being highlighted when you hover over it with your mouse.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Click on “Add Material” in your first material.
  • Find the material you want to add in the Material Editor main window.
  • Left-click and hold on the material, then drag your mouse over the “…” button.
  • Once the “…” is highlighted in yellow, release the left mouse button.

Hope that helps!

Best regards,
Boris

@Boris - Apologies, this workflow works. I rushed the video but could swear this was not working a while ago when tested dropping materials on […]

anyways, you may disregard and thanks for your time

No worries

Have a nice day.

Boris
