Having yet another fine anomaly in 3dsMax to MSFS.
I have a Taxiway Line (Loft with texture applied) and a simple plane with a texture. Just as a test for this scenario. Whenever I export into the sim as projected Mesh I get this message in the scenery editor and it seems the models are conjoined together. Any ideas?
MSFS Render and 3dsMax Pre-Export
You have to apply transforms. I work with blender, but I Googled how to do it on 3ds Max:
Here’s how to apply transforms in 3ds Max:
Click one of the transform buttons on the main toolbar
Position the mouse over the object you want to transform
Drag the mouse to apply the transform
Hi there! So I believe this is just to move/scale/rotate.
Why is MSFS giving this error?
What exactly does this Resolve when you use it in blender? Maybe if I get the answer to that, I will know where to start.
Projected Meshes have to be exported without scaling/rotation/translation. Otherwise you will get that error or warning. In blender everything part of a projected mesh has to be one object, or a hierarchy of other objects as child from the main object.
I apply CTRL+A in blender right before exporting to apply all transformations to the mesh. I learned this from a thread in FSDeveloper. Before that I used to open the file with modelconverterX exporting it with the same name. That workaround used to take care of the warnings for me.
