The ModelLib thumbnail seems like a cool feature,
Is it Asobo only or is there a chance to implement it for 3d party ? Can’t find anything in the documentation about (actually the screenshot and description in the docu are Vignettes while in the Scenery Editor they are called Thumbnails)
So maybe documentation bug?
I have also noticed a very slow time “Loadings…” the sceneries objects list, maybe related to that feature?
With nearly non existent Official and Community the loading should be very fast compared to 2020…

Any news on that matter, Federico? I don’t remember whether the checkbox to show ‘Objects Thumbnails’ has been there from the beginning or whether it came later to help with slower loading times?
Anyway, an AI search provided me with two different workflows for giving 3rd party custom objects a preview picture in the SDK Editor, but none of them worked for me.
It was there since the first Dev alpha
And still not documented how to add thumbs to our model Library
If the Devs have a little bit of spare time considering SU1 is coming soon,
An answer would be appreciated

I would also love to know if there will be any progression on this front. The Thumbnails are a game changer for me when developing scenery. I would love to see ALL the objects, especially in the microsoft-modellib-assets
package. Plus the microsoft-scenery-gliders-worldwide-*
packages have a ton of new hangar models. Would love to have a preview of them instead of having to single-click each one.
This has been a huge factor in me choosing to exclusively develop in 2024. Dev Tools quality of life improvements.
Hi,
In a futur update (not SU2) the Model thumbnail baker will be improved to be faster and you will be able to bake only one package.
Regards,
