Moving the camera via keys hides the mouse in the Scenery Editor

Version: 1.0.72.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: High

Context: Working on a scenery package in the scenery editor

Bug description:
When using the keybinds to move the camera, the mouse (visually) disappears. It can only be brought back clicking on one of the scenery editor menus.

Repro steps:

  1. Open a scenery project, and open the scenery editor
  2. Click in the viewport (where the sim is rendering, not one of the scenery editor windows.
  3. Move the camera via keys (wasd/qe/ijkl)
    The mouse will disappear
  4. Move the mouse to where one of the editor windows is (you’ll have to guess), and click. The mouse will reappear

This occurs regardless of whether a joystick is plugged in.

The mouse disappearing after moving the camera with keys is fine, but it should become visible again by simply moving the mouse.

I affirm. The mouse pointer disappears when moving free cam inside the editor.

Hello @here,

Could you let me know if you are still experiencing this behavior in the current DevAlpha version 1.0.88?

Regards,
Boris

Hi @Boris ,

It is a bit better - the mouse now reappears when simply moving the mouse (vs having to blindly click in an editor pane), but it is still rather annoying to have the mouse disappear in the first place.

I’m still having this exact same issue with 1.1.9.0 and SDK 1.0.0.

Didn’t get to test SDK 1.0.88 yet (not sure how/where to get it as a non-“Marketplace partner”).

System: Win10, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 4060Ti

Hello,

I believe this is the intended behavior, but you are welcome to report it through our Zendesk or forums.

Regards,
Boris
