MSFS 2020 airplanes - External Dynamic Registrations

Version: *1.0.84.0 *

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: Low

Marketplace package name: FSR500, TL3000, STING S$

Context: What package? mounted from Community, in flight?

Bug description:
The rendering of registrations in the aircraft is now totally different from MSFS 2020, looks like a font change? or something? this makes our initial design from MSFS 2020 to change dramatically inside MSFS 2024.

MSFS 2024 Registration :

MSFS 2020 Registration:

The MSFS 2020 Registrations are way more visible, thicker font, so if we could have these back it would be preferable.

Repro steps:
Load a MSFS 2020 compiled aircraft inside MSFS 2024, look for the dynamic registration

Thanks for everything,
Raul

Double check you don’t have something overriding Registration.html/Registration.css in your 2020 VFS. There are a number of aircraft packages that do.

Except this is the devalpha with only my addons in community folder, therefore it is not something external :wink

Best,
Raul

To add on this point, what we have seen in our packages is that the interior and exterior registration differences are NOT respected.
We have different registration colors internal and external models in some cases (e.g. black on the outside, white in the cockpit) and apparently only the external color is used for both…

Ah, I thought you meant you took the “MSFS 2020 Registration:” in MSFS 2020, where these files can be overridden.

It seems all registration formatting options, scale, colour etc are being disregarded.

Confirmed, registrations (interior and exterior) are now really different from the MSFS2020

Avoiding duplicating this issue. This has high severity in my case as I use ‘scale=0’ to hide the registration in some liveries, which are now broken in MSFS2024.

The external dynamic reg issue is not only on MSFS 2020 aircraft but also MSFS 2024 modular aircraft. This exists on both the A330 and A321LR.

I tried editing the [Panel_DynamicParameters] of livery.cfg and including a panel.cfg file to the livery packages but it doesn’t affect anything at all.

I strongly suspect the cloud streaming may have changed how fallbacks are handled. I looked at both the registration.js and css files from both 2020 and 2024, and they are identical, except the shortregistration variable on the js file in 2024.

Is there any fix available to solve the registration issue ?
