Version: 1.0.72.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: High

Context: Any MSFS 2020 aircraft, mounted from Community, in flight

Bug description:
All the windshield scratches that were working perfectly fine in MSFS 2020 are being displayed with glitches giving a horrible look…

The effect can be seen from inside / outside…

We are unable to fix this easy since it would affect our MSFS 2020 projects.

Repro steps:
Load any MSFS 2020 aircraft in community folder…

this is one of the most evident texture issues we see on the sim.

Should we work on mitigations, or expect a fix here?

Ray tracing on the glass is also ignoring the cockpit model showing the ground beneath.

yeah, that’s very strange to the reflection of the moving ground inside the plane

Hello @davux3

A fix is in the pipes. Will update this topic status when it is published.

Concerning reflections of environment and cabin, that can be done with the AO texture. Mike was telling how this works in Asobo with interior and exterior settings.

Ambient occlusion channel, but it’s not just glass, it’s all materials applied to any interior model. If ambient occlusion channel pixel values are above 180 or so you will get mostly exterior reflection. Below 100 it will be mostly or entirely interior reflection (using whatever reflection map type you’ve chosen, there are a few now). Values near 128 will show a blend of the two.

Hello everyone,

There was a fix for this issue in version 1.2.7.0
Let us know if that solves it for everyone.

Sylvain

Hi Sylvain,

Many thanks for the follow up, unfortunately I am unable to test until January 2025, let’s hope one of the other members on this topic can confirm earlier.

If not I will let you know when I am back from abroad next year.

Best,
Raul

This update fixed the issue for the FlyByWire planes. Many thanks!
