Bug description:
When mounted into the Community folder of MSFS 2024, sceneries from MSFS 2020 have bugs with Rectangle Exclusions and Exclude Polygons. Self generated 3D objects keep popping up in MSFS 2024.
This bug was not identified when testing in MSFS 2024 Dev Alpha

I second this. Confirmed for me as well. Ported current project (compiled in 2020) to 2024 and the default / photogrammetry area scenery is still there. Confirmed with the 2024 SDK documentation that the syntax of the exclusion polygon is the same as in 2020, but has no effect in 2024

Hello,

The buildings visible in the second screenshot are spawned by a handcrafted official package.

To exclude these objects, you should add an exclusion rectangle with the “Exclude Library Objects” in your project in MSFS2020.

However, during testing, I identified a bug where the SPC in msfs2024 are not excluded as expected.

I have logged this issue in our backlog for further investigation.

Boris

Hello,

After investigation, This is by design.
SPC (the buildings visible in the screenshot in MSFS2024) work differently from Scenery Objects.

To exclude them, you need to use an exclusion rectangle with the “excludeAllObjects” property.

In MSFS2020 :

Result in MSFS2024:

Hope it helps,

Boris

I am having a similar issue:

ICAO: SKPA (2020 package in community or loaded from library)

it work well the first weeks of MSFS 2024 but eventually generic buildings and props appeared

2020: you can see the exclusion rectangles that exclude buildings:

2024:

Hello @vpilotfs

This is what I see in MSFS2024 with a custom MSFS2020 project using the exclusion rectangle with “Exclude All” + a Polygon to remove all the buildings :

Try with a bigger exclusion rectangle and polygon to see if it’s better.

Boris

Hello @Boris

Thank you for the suggestion. I am going to try it when I have some time. But, we thought this legacy 2020 packages were supposed to be backward compatible and we did not have open the project in MSFS 2020 (where they work correctly), modify it, and have to load it in 2024 just to see if the change works. Not mentioning we would have to reupload it to the MCP and wait for the change to be published.

The “exclude buildings” should suffice and be respected in 2024 as it is in 2020.
