MSFS 2024 SDK Core Installer 1.1.2 Will Not Allow Installation on any Drive Other Than C:

  1. Received the Notification that an update to the SDK was available.
  2. Downloaded MSFS2024_SDK_Core_Installer_1.1.2.zip
  3. Extracted the .zip file to my D: drive and started the install file MSFS2024_SDK_Core_Installer_1.1.2.msi
  4. During the setup of the install I specified the folder to install to will be D:\MSFS 2024 SDK
  5. Continuing through the setup, I reached the “Install” button and clicked on it.
  6. The installer flagged an error saying that there was insufficient space available on drive C: for the install. Duh. I knew that. That’s why I was installing on drive D - as in “DELTA”.
  7. The only options the installer gave me at this point was to free up space on C:, or abort the install.

EDIT: For the record, Core Installer 1.0.1 worked flawlessly using these exact same steps.

Hmm I install to F: and works for me. perhaps do an uninstall first.

then do a cold reboot - there may be a registry conflict where it defaults to C:

I’m not sure why that would be as I’ve only ever installed the 2024 SDK to D:, but I’ll give it a try.

i’m having a other strange issue with the samples. so maybe there is a bad download.

EDIT: a cold reboot fixed that issue.

Completely uninstalling all 2024 SDK-related installs (including the samples), rebooting, then installing 1.1.2 solved the problem. Thank you!
