Waiting

ETA?

Because the streamers bring cash, but developers makes the game :slightly_smiling_face:

+1 on this sentiment. Totally understand the cycle of hype, but developers kept this title relevant in it’s darkest past and hope to do so for the foreseeable future. We should be considered for first line demos/access.

But do you have a YouTube channel? Kappa

Yeah  This question has been asked over and over, and yet we have the game announced, while big partners are working for the new sim already, but none of the small devs has the smallest info on that regard. I’m sure ORBX or IniBuilds, Gaya or Aerosoft do require more time for their products and are huge income whales, but humanly thinking, just 2 months aren’t enough for:

  • Study new features
  • Read the hopefully included documentation
  • convert and IMPLEMENT new features on old airports
  • figure out compatibility between sims
  • bugfixing
  • release time

September was too late already, but at least was a date. So far tho things are going by the worst case scenario and we don’t even know nothing but what the actual END USER knows
Some of us, aren’t just end users here

1,7k subs and under 200k overall views, in YouTube terms, an amateur :joy: -
( in other terms, this month I managed to keep 1,2k unique people engaged for around 200hours…that’s impressive!)

Also, nobody yet explained to the wide range of indie developers how compatibility works. What about assets made in MSFS 2024 which wants to be used on 2020? And what about the other way around?

Especially for those in the Partner Program,
I expected on the MS Teams some private links, infos or anything regarding our close future but so far all I read is total radio silence and the frustration of not knowing anything for our own content.

I can somehow try to understand not having the sdk and the documentation + guidelines at hand now, but the lack of information so far is BRUTAL :disappointed:

Still waiting for any news on the SDK here too.
Hopefully we get some news at the very least on Wednesday’s Dev stream

Leaving 3rd parties behind is a big mistake. We have low level of trust from customers already, without possibility to port our add-ons at least in first month after release will make things worse.

I’m being really hopeful we get something on Wednesday or soon after. but I doubt we will. At least from our part, we haven’t been asked about the accounts who will receive access to SDK and a preview build to test on, and that can take some time.

Customers are emailing me, asking if and when I will update my sceneries for MS2024 but I don’t know what to say. I intend to, but have no idea how complicated it’s going to be, what new feature I could add (animated passengers? New textures?)

We should guys understand that only Gaya and IniBuilds has the SDK…They don’t care about us, the smaller developers, they care about the big ones, the ones that can give them money, so they are “partners”…
Its a shame that the SDK is firstly given to the biggest…

But how is it said, to make more money you should have alot of money  This is the Microsoft moto lol

And then there is the Christmas Holidays which means that for us small developers, nothing is going to happen to our airports until the new year! A lot of my clients are not going to like this, but there is nothing we can do about it…

Life sucks and then you die…

Can someone ask about this during the developer stream today? Unfortunately I can’t make it.

Basically: “How can 3rd party developers verify their apps and content work with MSFS2024 before the release date so we don’t get inundated by support requests from our users”

I will be attending the streaming and forward your Question to the Devs,

…hoping for an Answer

Hey Mamu I’m Stefano from Project Coastline, can you ask if the material collisions will be better than MSFS20?

No idea if the SDK needs a specific update for 2020 but that could be a reason it is not public yet. Besides that, Inibuilds and Gaya are more like 1st party in devstatus.

During the developer stream today Joerg said there would be an “alpha” in “late October”, when asked if there would be a public beta prior to release.

They showed a roadmap slide later. On 10/02 there’s an SDK Q&A session.

The question was asked at the beginning of the steam: “when will be the SDK be available?”. Jorg said he was going to talk about it later on the stream.

Then it was asked again during the last Q&A topics. Jorg said it’s on the next slide.

A few more slides and no answer. Very disappointing

Actually they answered, ( was that Jorg or Martial),
They said Day One

(Just like lots of the Answer they gave)…not the one we were waiting for :frowning:

So let’s wait another week for our beloved heroes here to show up, in the meantime we have an answer for our customers, and they have an official forum to make a complaint

They have anyway said that almost everything from 2020 will be compatible with 2024, so let’s continue to hope for the best

They said Day One

I listened to the whole thing live, Joerg specifically said there would be an Alpha in late Oct (much) later in the stream.
