Marketplace package name: Niagara Falls City Pack and Heliport
Context: When loading the 2020 package in the 2024 Community Folder
Bug description: Terraforming/Height Map at the Niagara falls waterfall is not behaving in the correct way that it did in 2020. I was waiting for the updated Dev Build (1.0.77.0) to see if it fixed this issue, but sadly it did not.
Repro steps: Load Niagara Falls City Pack and Heliport in 2024 and look at the river by the waterfalls
You can turn off “dynamic terrain,” I think that’s its name, in the graphics settings, and it helps a bit.
I feel your pain. I have this all over 'Idaho Fire Lookouts". The steeper the terrain the worse it is.
Between this and the imagery being moved for 2024, there’s lots of work to do.
I had to do that too for my sceneries to get rid of some terraforming issues. But I think it should be fixed in the base. It should not be that we have to turn off a setting which will remove a cool feature on 2024 just so that we can run our 2020 sceneries. I figured Terraforming polygons or Hightmaps from 2020 have basically no effect on 2024, so this needs to be looked at. On my relatively small sceneries I found a workaround, I can fix all my sceneries and make them 2024 ready. But Jeppesons Niagara or Victoria Falls sceneries are another dimension.
I don’t think I own any of yours yet, but I only heard good things about them, so I might get those soon.
So conclusion. Terraforming and hightmaps should have the same effect in 24 as they do in 20
Latest Dev Alpha build did not resolve the terraforming glitch at Niagara Falls.
I decided to try and see what was causing the issue by editing my 2020 scenery deleting polygons, height maps, and projected mesh. After doing this it was still present, I now discovered that the glitch is with the Base Sim after uninstalling my scenery. Please see pictures below of Niagara Falls in Default base sim. It happens with or without photogrammetry. Could this be addressed please. @FlyingRaccoon
