Where are the UI scaling controls?
I didn’t use the tech alpha, but was the UI the same huge size in that?
Why what happened to responsive design, and scalable UI under the users control? Is this just temporary or is it meant to be permanent?

Because it’s a “game” catered to Xbox, despite repeated claims of being a “hardcore” simulator.
The UI to me looks like Microsoft wanted to revive their dead Windows Phone idea once more.
That’s not really true. Most, if not all “gaEmZ” have highly configurable UI’s whether they are PC only, Console, or both. It’s got nothing to do with it being a “GaEm” or a "shimulator, akshully"
But it is extremely un-UX friendly without the scaling and font resizing options at the moment. I don’t have an issue with the redesign per se (certain flows have some interesting design choices though) I’m talking purely about the scaling and responsive design capability.
On my 2K display at native rez the toolbar apps don’t seem responsive, or the system to do it has changed with no documentation. In any event, there are no longer any proper UI scaling controls in the settings.
Yes, it very much is just a “gaEm” now.
The file structure change we keep hearing about was ONLY to cater to Xbox X and S hardware. Performance and storage improvements was a MUST for the next iteration and they met both requirements. They now also have full control over liveries on both PC and Xbox too. PC got screwed.
I don’t think so. It’s early days, they need to stabilize it first.
You also need to realize that MSFS has ALWAYS been an MS technology testbed. This time is no different. It’s also for everyone, and people are not born “serious simmers” they become “serious simmers” through a process.
But I digress, and I’m not interested in arguing over who has the right to use MSFS. It’s for everyone, period.
So, back to the OP, would be great to get some dev insight into the possibility of some more UI flexibility.
Thanks.
Update:
What’s missing is the UI Scale control. The font in MSFS 2020 mins out at 18 as well.
I couldn’t agree more. The UI scalability is sorely missed and makes using the sim on pc seem archaic. Such an important convenience and quality of use detail that I can only hope it is the top of the action item list.
