Regarding: World Hub website
Frequency: Consistently
For DevMode bugs, please include the game version: SU/AAU/WU XX - 1.XX.XX.X
For website bugs, please include device, browser, and browser version if possible: For example PC/Tablet/Phone - Edge/Chrome/Firefox/ - Version X.Y.Z
This is a website bug, but it has nothing to do with browser and OS versions.
Bug description:
(Before I begin, I want to say that I am a native English speaker. I don’t speak French, but I speak a little Spanish and am not fluent. I am very self-conscious when I try to speak Spanish to a native Spanish speaker because I know it is not perfect. This is my third bug report about English mistakes, and I want to be clear that my intent is not to criticize, but to help make this the best user experience it can be. Most of the English on the website is better than my French or Spanish will ever be.)
With that said, there are multiple English problems on the home page. I don’t think it is a good use of anyone’s time to create four bug reports, and #2 and #4, below, are so small that they wouldn’t warrant bug reports on their own. But #1 and #3 are important, in my opinion, so I think it’s best to lump these into one bug report and fix them all in one shot.
Here are the four bugs. The text in bold is the current text on the website:
-
Become a contributor and build airports using our in-game edition tools!
Similar to my “Resume edition” bug that I reported, the word “edition” is used incorrectly: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/edition. I think that the word they meant to use was “editing”: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/editing -
40602 Airports available for check-out and download, improved everyday by our contributors.
These are common trivial mistakes made by native English speakers, too. The more important of the two is that “everyday” should be two words. If it’s one word, it becomes an adjective. The second trivial mistake is that the word “Airports” should not be capitalized: It is not a proper noun. -
Read the documentation on how to use the World Hub and our in-game edition tool, the Scenery Editor.
Same problem as #1: The word “edition” should not be used. Please see below for proposed fixes to these two phrases. -

Again, very trivial. This does not sound like it was written by a native English speaker. A question like this is going to be written informally without the word “You.” Additionally, this should be two sentences. And finally, there is a stray space at the end before the exclamation point.
Notes on a new proposed text for #1 and #3:
#3: If this were to be corrected as-is, the new text would read, “Read the documentation on how to use the World Hub and our in-game editing tool, the Scenery Editor.” Which sounds awkward. I think the word “editing” is redundant, and that the sentence would work perfectly well with that word removed: “Read the documentation on how to use the World Hub and our in-game tool, the Scenery Editor.” However, to take it even one step further, I think many of us who take this seriously cringe at the word “game”. There was even an early developer stream where Martial corrected himself and said that it was not a “game,” but a sim. I think the best version of this would be: “Read the documentation on how to use the World Hub and our in-sim tool, the Scenery Editor.”
#1: Similar to #3, I think that for #1, the word “game” should be replaced with “sim”. So, I think it should read: “Become a contributor and build airports using our in-sim editing tools!”
Repro steps:
- Open up the World Hub website.
- Login, if necessary.
