Hey all
I opened a scenery project from MSFS2020 in MSFS2024 dev. mode.
But my scenery objects are not getting loaded… they are just shown as “unknown” and are not visible.
They are saved in subfolders as usual: \PackageSources\modelLib
How to reload them? Is the path maybe different in MSFS2024?
How can I load them again?
Thanks a lot
hi, you have to press the build packagge button in the editor but the materials will not be shown due to the new system change.
Thanks for your reply. It worked. I had to build it, close the mod, reopen it, and the objects are there now.
With textures, actually
However, now I have the LOD problem… even tough my objects are fairly low poly… they still only show up when I’m very close.
So I will have to create LODs (never did that) and also therefore create some low poly versions of my current models.
Does anyone know a good tutorial on youtube on how to create the different LODs and also how to create low poly versions of existing models in the first place (in Blender)?
Thanks a lot
LOD system of MSFS20204 is really too aggressive as already reported to Asobo by many addon developers
well yeah… but they might not change it because that’s the way they want to do it for performance. who knows.
So if anyone knows a good tutorial on youtube on how to create the different LODs and also how to create low poly versions of existing models in the first place (in Blender)… I would definitelly like to know it
I have published a free Blender addon to simplify LODs generation
You can download it here GitHub - erasam/LODs-Easy-Generator: A Blender custom add-on to create automatically LODs files to streamline the development of aircrafts for Microsoft Flight Simulator
