Hi, I’m creating a couple of seaplane bases. They have some amphibious ramps.
I’d like to create some parking spaces for people to choose to spawn on the
ramps with their amphibious aircraft, I’ve connected them to the water
runways. It would be cool if I could limit AI aircraft spawning at these
locations (since there are several amphibious ramps in the area) to amphibious
aircraft (float planes there won’t be horrible). At the moment, I’ve reduced
the diameter of the spots so no aircraft spawn on them since I was getting
landplanes spawned on them. So at least they are there for people too choose
to start at. Question: What happens if I choose type “Dock” for
taxiwayparkings on Land? Does it matter that they are on land? I know I can
easily test this, but, I don’t know if I’d immediately see any issues that I’d
be unaware of until I start getting complaints. Is there any special code
related to “Dock” taxiwayparkings in FS I should be aware of? Also, I have a
dock at which I’d like to have a “Fuel” location at. What happens if I put a
“Fuel” taxiwayparking in the water? Are there any gotcha’s I should be aware
of? It seems to be working though I haven’t tested actually filling up there
yet, will do that today. I turned off the 3DMesh and put my own items there.
As I noted above, all my Taxiwayparkings are connected to the water runways
and have (hidden) hold shorts at their runway connections. I’m hoping someday
AI aircraft implements the ability for AI to spawn at empty “Dock” spots and
can taxi too and from runways and fly from / to the water runways.
So, did some testing, everything seems to work (Fuel as water parking location
and Dock as a ground parking location). I’ll keep an eye on the ground “Docks”
to see if they populate with appropriate aircraft. I’d still like to know if
I’m missing anything here in doing this.
And thanks so much for adding the “Has 3D Mesh” option to the Fuel Parking
spots and allowing us to configure them. (wish it was called something
different than 3D Mesh, lol, but, it is what it is and I’m happy )
