In main menu or in flight? both

Similar MSFS 2020 issue: no, just got done reworking the 2020 version, works fine in 2020, just resubmitted for a update

Bug description: after reworking the 2020 version of rws-kstl, i put the community folder version into the 2024 community folder and when i go to airport it shows my ground markiings, and all the asobo models, but none of my buildings - any other models i made- show up. none.
i tried to use the original file that i used for reworking 2020 version, and i got a bunch of strange errors. when i opened the .xml in 2024, here is screenshots of the whole process.

nothing is working, i am trying to figure it out and all steps i keep taking are not working. One strange behavior of this package is that if i load a much older version of the rws-kstl into the 2024 community folder it will show the buildings and ground like normal, but the reason i cannot sign off on this older one is that the package/airport is not optimized. I did work on it that gave it a HUGE boost in 2020 and i just want to be able to use the same version in 2024, it will be much better and it will be high fps and no lag.

reading - all my other packages are working fine…just for info.

@UncurledChimp32,

How many asset groups do you have in your package and what type are they?
I guess you have a BGL or Airport asset group as a modellib?
Do you only use GLTF files or are you also using old MDL files?

Can you send your built 2020 package so that we can check why it doesn’t look correct in 2024?

Best regards,

Eric

Hi, Thanks for the response. How do i go about sending a large file, is there a preferred method? I will gladly send it asap!

i don’t know if this might help some.

Unfortunately we don’t have a standardised method for exchanging files on this platform - Google Drive works fine but WeTransfer or DropBox (or other!) would work too.

Best regards,

Eric / Asobo

I have the same issue with Burning Blue Design KCMR Williams. (2020 package in 2024 Community folder)
Ground markings appear but no models.

Is this package using custom models or models from our libraries? If the latter, can you check that these objects are still found within the Scenery Editor?

Best regards,

Eric / Asobo

In our case it’s all custom models in a modellib which do not load.

Also possibly related, the airfield only shows the ICAO code in the world map and no airport name.

KCMR is in the marketplace if you’re able to check and verify.

To add a little further info on this one.

The custom models are working correctly as part of VectorPlacement tool. Aprons, TaxiwayParking, PaintedLines all working as expected.

Only all 3d Scenery objects are missing.

This is how it displays on the world map too, without the airport name:
KCMR

Hi @Gobby,

This is what it looks like right now on my development version - looks like there’s still an issue with some textures but apart from that your custom objets seem to be visible. I’ll have to dig through the latest changes to understand why the result is different from the DevAlpha you have.

Best regards,

Eric / Asobo

Thanks for checking Eric.
That model with a missing texture isn’t one from my scenery.

@Gobby,

Just checked on DevAlpha 1.0.84.0 and your airport looks like the screenshot above too! Can you double check on your end?

Best regards,

Eric / Asobo

It’s working now that I have removed all other packages from the Community folder.

Thanks

I tried the fix the @Gobby mentioned and it is working, now all models are visable, but only when the package (kstl) is the only package in the community folder.

Can you give us an example of another package that could be added to the Community folder and would make your custom models not appear?

Best regards,

Eric / Asobo
