On our F28, which uses a MSFS 2020 built package, with a ‘navigation_graph_pilot.cfg’ file added to enable the positioning of the preflight walkaround avatar, we’re finding that the in-cockpit ‘PILOT’ avatar is sometimes positioned incorrectly.
After starting a flight C&D at a parking spot, and using Shift+C to enter the cockpit, the pilot is correctly positioned on the cockpit seat node that we’ve specified using the ‘modelNode’ value in the ‘navigation_graph_pilot.cfg’ file. However, as shown in the screenshot below, they are positioned incorrectly when starting a flight on the runway. This can sometimes happen when starting at a parking spot too, but less commonly. And, most of the time, pressing Shift+C to enter walkaround mode and then again to enter the cockpit, results in the pilot appearing on the correct node again.
The model node that we are using exists in all exterior LODs. We’ve also tried using a node from the interior LODs, but with no luck. Where the pilot is located in the screenshot below doesn’t exist as a node in either the exterior or interior model.
I appreciate that the navigation graphs weren’t designed to be included in a 2020 package but it seems to be the only method for allowing us to define the preflight walkaround starting position.
Thanks,
Martyn
