Hi, I’m having an issue with one of my airports projects. Usually, when I’m
editing a scenery, when I move one of the Scenery objects I’ve placed, it
moves. In this one airport, when I move or delete an object, a ghost of it is
left behind. IOW, it seems like I’m seeing both the airport I’m editing, and
the editor is not suppressing the original in sim airport from the scene, so
I’m seeing both versions, the editing version and the version in the sim. I
haven’t been having this issue with any of my other projects (although I did
see it a couple of times two years ago). If I build my project, quit FS, move
the new build into my Community folder, everything looks fine and all my
changes are in place. I’ve only started having this problem with this project
since SU12. This was one of the first airports I created back in 2020, and I
created all the setup files for the project by hand, so I imagine there’s a
missing setup option somewhere. I’ve checked the scenery editor menus, and I
can’t find anything that seems to help. Any thoughts on what I can do to fix
this? Is there a setting or file change I need to make? Thanks! P.S. I don’t
have any issue making changes to “airport” items like taxiways, aprons,
painted lines, textures, parking spots etc, or even SimObjects. Just the
scenery objects have issues.
That has been an issue for a long time. Some people say that happens is your
project is loaded on the community, but it’s happened to me either way. My
workaround is to save scenery and reload BGL to get rid of the ghost objects.
Thanks. Yeah, I tried that, didn’t work for me, but I’ll try again. It’s weird
it’s just this one project. I’m going to do a WinMerge on it, see if I can
find any weirdness.
I figured out the issue. I had been changing the name of the directory of the
package when putting it in my Community directory. When I left it as the same
name as the name in the “Packages” directory of my project, the problem went
away.
