Static Vertices Increase and Blender Vertices Count mismatch!

Version: 1.0.86.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: High

Bug description:
There’s seemingly a 75% static vertices increase between 1.0.84 and 1.0.86 for the exact same gltf?

1.0.84.0

1.0.86.0

Besides this the blender vertices count of a triangulated object is not matching what the sim is telling me.
Triangulated object says 7468 vertices.

Statistic profiler says 15,494.

I know the vertices count mismatch is somewhat normal. But i don’t think the different was that much before 1.0.86.0

Can confirm everything is broken in 1.0.86.0. @EPellissier

Spent 3 weeks LODing everything as was working fine in previous builds.

Now the sim is not usable.

For example Here is my LOD0 GLTF 2.0 imported into blender. 100k verts.

Today in the sim its now almost 2 million, and you have to be completely inside it for it to load. (LOD Limits: Vertices Debug Shown.)

We understand the GLTF 2.0 standard, and that Blender reported counts on a merged model will not be the same as reported in the simulator, as GLTF 2.0 will not merge vertices. Which is why I have used the imported model as an example.

But now all models are broken.

Although exported cube with 1 materials and its reported correctly at 24 verts.

Seems the material count is now multiplying the vertices count.
Here is a cube with 4 materials. Now reporting 96 vertices.

Hello all,

Please DO NOT change the models you had created LODs for with 1.0.84.0 - the latest 1.0.86.0 seems to have an issue with vertex counts indeed.
I’ll get back to you on this topic ASAP.

Hi everyone,

I can confirm that the next build that is being prepared right now will fix the issue.
Apologies for not spotting it before shipping 1.0.86.0.

Best regards,
