Text to Speech

Dear Asobo,

Would it be possible to implement some sort of text to speech using the already embedded system the MSFS ATC uses?

It would allow to extend many areas of the interaction with users, such as informing them about something, from implementing more immersive interactions with users such as, produce voices for passengers, custom ground crew personal, vehicles and much more.

It would allow even being to provide the capacity for visually impair users to have means to interact better with MSFS.

Ideally we could set a text var of some sort (JS, C++ WASM or anything that makes it easier to implement in the SDK), the voice we want and then the MSFS core could produce the sound of the voice like ATC does.

Currently our only option is to pre-record a .WAV file or WIISE, but as you must appreciate this is very limited… or use external application linked to TTS, but unfortunately the second option would never work on XBOX. Where as if this is implemented as part of the SDK, if would allow the solution to work perfeclty on both platforms (PC / XBOX).

Thanks for listening to my idea.

Best,
Raul

Gets my vote… would be such a great addition for so many uses.

I wholeheartedly agree this would be a very welcome addition, considering the current limitation of not being able to play a sound that is not already present in an audio package, and text to speech would be a prime example why this ability might be required.

We already have a new product concept which we would like to do in a fully SDK-compliant way (to have it working on Xbox as well), which is currently on hold precisely because of the lack of this feature.
