VOR Scenery objects appears as houses at non airport locations

I was flying a helicopter the other day and decided to visit a nearby VOR. What I have noticed is that the VOR appear on the scenery image tile, but the AI scenery placed a house on top of it.

For tubeliners a VOR is just a symbol on the screen, but for us rotorheads a VOR is a scenery object.

Here is a screenshot:

Can we not feed AI the positions of all the VORs not at an airport, and it places a VOR scenery object there instead of a house?

I know of at least 2 VORs that are like this:
WIL (Switzerland)
ZUE (Near Zurich)

Then one that is at an airport but not seen in the Scenery:
KTV at FYKT Keetmanshoop.

Can you please fix these and consider training the AI scenery generator to look in a database?

Good idea in theory. But this “AI” took various 100-200’ long RC parks and made them into fantasy airports complete with invented ICAO… So database consultation doesn’t seem to be a strong point.

Thanks.

Not all AI are making up stuff like LLMs. If you train the existing MSFS Scenery AI (BlackShark) to place a VOR model on existing known locations of VORs, there can be a VOR model on it instead of a house.

At least if you have a World update, update the VOR models as well for that country.

There is no need to train AI when data is already available :slightly_smiling_face:
Infact there is already something to solve the missing models

It just needs the exclusion polygons to remove the building according to the description, and that’s extremely easy to do, too

Thank you, Federico. What will we do without you? Just what was needed. :slightly_smiling_face:

There is always a Community mod for most problems.
