Reading through the SDK I noticed that you can inhibit FS2024’s wear and tear system. Does it turn off wear and tear:
- Globally (carreer and free flight)
- Free flight only?
Reading through the SDK I noticed that you can inhibit FS2024’s wear and tear system. Does it turn off wear and tear:
That’s an excellent question. I searched and searched in the SDK, and couldn’t figure out when “wear and tear” is applied to an aircraft, or any details on exactly how W&T works. Is it a contextual thing? Perhaps persistent in career mode, but only active on each flight in free flight mode, and the wear disappears when you quit the flight (despite our repeated requests for persistence in both wear and location in even free flight)? Is there any “wear and tear” in free flight mode? I couldn’t tell from everything I read in the SDK.
Bumping this thread up, I tested and noticed that if the Failures and stress are turned on in Assistance settings, then wear and tear applies in free flight also. It seems that these settings are overrid in Career Mode, so this is a potential solution.
However, knowing if the inhibitCategory or other such functions work globally or only in career mode would be very helpful.
