Everything is broken. DEM, CGL, LODs

Sorry to be so direct here, but i’ve now battled with the tech alpha for over one week and things have actually gotten worse.
i got my EFKI scenery over from 2020 and at first look it worked, but i’m experiencing a lot of issues that, update-on-update, wont get resolved and in many cases actually create bigger issues. maybe it’s just in the way that i built this scenery, if so please let me know what i’m doing wrong.

LODS
those worked for a while, i re-exported all my assets for 2024 with adjusted lod sizes, only to see them completely screwed in the recent (14/11) update. it’s brutal. buildings randomly disappear, adjusted lod sizes for distance are now flipping lods super close, etc.


DEM
As discussed in this this thread, my custom aerials are turned into super bumpy tesselation to the point that my aprons and runways are completely unusable. it’s not just the DEM that’s doing it, it seems to be anything form painted lines to rectangles used for decals. the tesselation also moves large areas of my aerial over geometry so everything just gets swallowed. additionally, as seen in the last picture, the DEM titles that intersect in SOME areas of the runway (runway has terraforming slope) carve really ugly holes into the ground.



Normal maps
my custom ground textures have really ugly normal artifacts up-close now for some reason.

Airplane taxies onto the runway, crosses it and just disappears into the forest
the taxiways were correctly laid out but if i don’t click “ready to fly” the plane just drives off into the wilderness. no idea whats happening here.


close to giving up at this point. i know a lot of these issues might stem from how i built this scenery, but i literally don’t see a way to fix this and release it, especially in time for the 2024 release.

This should help a little, but i get your pain. Don’t change your LODS. This build indeed has plenty issues. Say a prayer for the next build.

Thanks for the thread, helps a little. I also found a way to fix some of the tesselation issues (i had to turn my opacity of certain surfaces fully up. weird way of dealing with it, i think they should make a ground merge/tesselation slider setting that controls this independently). anyways thanks again for your reply :slight_smile:
