Flattening of water bodies

Hello, and Happy New Year 2025

In my project, I would like the surfaces of the water bodies to be flattened over a terraforming heightmap (terrrain mesh).
Some water bodies, which are missing in the default scenario, I can easily transfer them into the scenario and in Dev Mode I can also see such water surfaces perfectly leveled. After having compiled, inside Dev Mode, a .bgl file without errors, upon exit the changes are lost.
So, I assume that some parameter is missing, my question is which one?
I can share a copy of the project if it is useful to understand the problem.

Regards

Continuing to work on this project on MSFS2024 Beta 1.4.13.0 using the 1.4.4.0 SDK. While I appreciate the improvements in this release, I have encountered a couple of issues that I hope you can address:

1. Flattening water bodies on terraforming heightmap:

  • I tried flattening water body surfaces on a terraforming heightmap (terrain mesh). While the changes appear to be smoothed correctly in Development mode, they continue to be lost after compiling the .bgl file and closing the project.

  • I suspect a parameter is missing, but I’m not sure which one. Could you please provide me with any guidance on what could be causing this issue or what additional steps I should take to ensure that the changes persist?

2. Behavior of the “Force Elevation” attribute:

  • Importing a .shp file with water body polygons into the project, I noticed that the “Force elevation” attribute is not initially set. However, after generating and saving the .xml file, the attribute is automatically introduced, even when it is not needed.

  • This behavior seems undesirable and could potentially be a bug. Could you please confirm if this is expected behavior or if it is indeed a bug? If the latter, are there any workarounds or fixes planned?

I have attached a copy of my project and relevant screenshots to illustrate the issues. I hope this information is helpful and look forward to your feedback.

Thank you for your time and support.
Best regards
