Bug description: An apron with a grass material on it loses it’s opacity the further you move away from it. When close to the ground it covers the aerial as expected, and the further you move away the more “see-through” it gets, revealing the underlying aerial imagery
Repro steps: Make a grass apron in 2020 over a bright surface (car par, taxiway, etc) and look at it in 2020 at various distances
Date does not matter, it happens at all times of the year.
This can lead to massive issues when the airport layout has changed since the aerial was taken as can be observed at our KSGF scenery. Here, I had to cover up and old taxiway that has since been removed. From a distance the grass gets washed out and you can clearly see the taxiway underneath it. (Yes, ground merging is turned off)
Hey Michael - I submitted a similar report as I am having an issue in a new 2024 project with not being able to hide satellite terrain as I could before the 2024 SU1 Beta. Boris did say it was a regression and is ‘bug-logged’…not sure if your is the same exact issue or not.
Ah thank you very much. Yes I do think that this is probably the same issue. I knew there was a post about it as I have read that a while ago but I couldn’t find it anymore. I just looked for “grass” in the title and it didn’t come up.
Glad it is logged. Thanks for sharing the post again with me"
