Bug description: In fs24 when using height map terraforming, the edge of rectangle cause this weird elevation issue after compiling & loading in sim. Note- the effect is not visible when the scenery is loaded in the sdk editor
Repro steps: Load a scenery/Airport project in the editor. Then add rectangle and enable height map. After that compile the project and load package from community folder.
I’m getting this too. Adjacent rectangless there is a line between them like this where there’s a small drop off.
I have noticed that if I build the project and come back to it, it shows up in the editor too at that point with no way to fix it. No amount of smoothing or falloff takes it away.
Something has changed in MSFS2024 on how terraforming with heightmaps is handled… and it hasn’t been documented enough.
To (temporarily) solve this gap in enable Dev Mode \ Options \ Grounds options \ Old terraforming method.
Unfortunately the problem will reoccur at the next sim reboot as this enablement is not remembered in Dev Mode.
