Helicopter engine is not running on the "ready to fly" screen

Version: 1.1.9.0

Frequency: Consistently

Severity: High

Marketplace package name: N/A

Context: H145/H160 from Community or H225 1.0 in the default PD edition.

Similar MSFS 2020 issue: Works fine on MFS20

Bug description: Helicopter engine is not running when on the ‘ready to fly’ screen. The Cabri and other aircraft are running, mine trigges engine start from zero.

Repro steps:

  1. Load H225 on the runway
  2. When you get to the 'ready to fly’s screen
Observed: helicopter engine is not running, rotors are either off or starting to turn
Expected: the rotors should be near flight power when starting

Now if you click ‘ready to fly’, something happens and the startup is skipped as you portal to the cockpit. On H145/H160 you get an unpleasent loud noise too.

We have a similar issue with our C160 Transall which is very annoying, engines are not running on ready to fly screen and an autostart is automatically triggered by the sim after clicking on the button.

Hello @davux3 (@R-AzurPoly FYI)

I don’t observe the behavior you describe.
Instead, fuel level takes some time to be initialized and fuel flow and RPM drop for a few seconds:

Has the behavior changed in latest versions or do you still have engine shutdown?

Edit: I witnessed the issue with H145 but it also happens when starting a freeflight on MSFS 2020 1.38.2.0

I am guessing this is essentially the same taxi.flt issue explained here: Aircraft start with almost no fuel on MFS24 - #4 by FlyingRaccoon

I will re-author the file and check the behaviors.

Possibly. I haven’t found time to trace in the code yet but if so, I’ll let you know.

Sylvain
