Xbox users are reporting that the custom tablet EFB on the C-17 (HTML Gauge with touchscreen) is no longer functional after this week’s update.
There are no issues on PC, seems to be Xbox only. Given the limited Xbox debug tools we have access to, I’m raising the issue here, as I’m really not sure how to proceed with this one.
Issue occurs in both the stable release and SU1 Beta. After further investigating, found the root cause, and its not only a Xbox problem - happens in PC as well: Touchscreens in FS24 seem to be incompatible with Xbox controllers.
In PC (and Xbox, if a mouse is used), touchscreens displays function just fine with mouse interactions. However, when an Xbox controller is used, the cursor is unable to interact with the touchscreen.
The exact same gauge functions correctly on FS20 with an xbox controller. I’m unaware if there are any new configs we need to be aware of, and may be missing, to make the display controller-friendly.
This issue still seems to be present in SU3 and is affecting all the touchscreen tablets in the FlyingIron birds. The touchscreen interactables do not appear to work with controller on PC or Xbox.
Many thanks for your reply, and thanks for sending that screenshot. I did not realise that there was a separate ‘cursor mode’ for the controller, and using that seems to solve the issue.
The touch screen does not work when cursor mode is off (and only the white dot is visible), however, this may be the intended functionality. I’ve attached a video showcasing the touchscreen not working with the cursor mode off, then working with it on.
