Living World service vehicles replacement

Version:1.0.72.0

Frequency:always

Severity:Blocker

Context: Simultech my replacement assistance trucks

Similar MSFS 2020 issue:no

Bug description: In MSFS2020 it is possible to replace the boarding stairs with custom replacements (my replacement assistance trucks add-on), providing my living-world definition file. In 2024 the replacement of pushback vehicles, gpu, catering are OK but the boarding stairs are not replaced, what changes? the boarding stairs provided as an example seem to be the 2020 ones and do not provide any explanation/example of the nodes needed to interact with passengers, is it possible to have some info to make the package compatible?
Many Thanks.

As explained, the product replaces the service vehicles by region by customizing the livingword definition file, at the moment even with version 1.0.77 when calling the passenger boarding, instead of the customized scale the default scale arrives. The product has serious compatibility limitations.

Hello @alexfsdt ,

Could you please share with us a minimal MSFS2020 project that reproduce the issue ?

Hi,

I just sent the demo with the reproduced problem to private content group.

Thanks.

Alessandro.

Hi,

The first demo sent was to highlight the problem of pilots sitting wrongly backwards on service vehicles:

https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/drivers-of-my-service-vehicles-are-positioned-in-the-wrong-position-compared-to-2020/10663

I just sent another demo on the private group that helps identify the problem of this discussion: the passenger ramp, in this test, is replaced by a custom one, defined in the living world xml, and in 2020 sim it is correctly called when requesting ground services. The same demo package mounted in 2024 works differently, the services defined in the living world with the custom ramp are not taken into account, a ladder and a bus arrive instead of my custom one, I think it is wanted because of the new passenger loading systems, but this breaks backward compatibility.

Thanks.

Alessandro

Hello @alexfsdt ,

This should be fixed in SU2 (currently in flighting).
Can you confirm if the issue is resolved?

Boris

Hi Boris,
Thanks for the message, but I can’t try because with SU2 I have no way to call ground services due to this bug that other users also have. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/atc-panel-doesnt-show-comm-options/713219/4

3 posts were split to a new topic: Living World vehicles and airport services replacement

Hi Boris,

you manage to fix it?? do you know how can a replace the ramp for custom one in fs 2024?

Hi guys!
Does it work in SU3 or in SU4 betta

It doesn’t work on any version. @Boris @alexfsdt Did you manage to get it working? How do I replace the ramp with a custom one? I managed to replace the pushback and other things, but the ramp doesn’t work, only the default ramp Asobo appears… I’ve been at this for days and have tried everything…

Hello
I just tested it in SU4 and it’s working as expected :

Did you build, put the package into your community folder and then restarted the game to see the changes ?
Is your project a native msfs2024 and not a msfs2020 one ?

Also, you should create a dedicated topic in [MSFS 2024] Questions & Community Discussions > Aircraft as it will be better to track it and answer you.

Boris

Thak you for you Reply. i will create e new one for better to track it and answer later but for now can you see here?

Just to respond here you reply:

1 - This project was originally created for MSFS 2020 and then converted to MSFS 2024.
2 - I builded and put in the community folder
3 - In the airport package, I added a new SimObject (a custom passenger ramp) to the SimObjects folder and set airport service parameters

In the Services configuration, I set the airport to use this new Ramp service and other custom services, so they should override the default ones. All the other custom services (like Pushback) are correctly recognized and used by the sim.

However, the custom Ramp is never recognized by the sim when I call it through Ground Services. It only works if I spawn it manually using the SimObject spawner, so I know the SimObject itself is fine – the sim just refuses to use it as a replacement for the default Ramp when the service is requested. Even when I test with the sample Ramp from the MSFS 2024 SDK template, the sim still ignores it and continues to spawn the default Ramp from the ASOBO package. What do you thing @Boris for the ramp i need set other parameters?

Could you explain which specific parameters or settings i need to set?

Do I need to configure this only through AirportServices.xml? this work for the other services..
The custom Ramp SimObject is in the same package as the airport.
