[MSFS 2024] Drive-through parkings

On very many airports you can find drive-through parkings. They are common. The plane arrives to the parking from one direction and when it starts again it is not pushed back, but it continues straight out along another part of the taxiway. In MSFS 2020 only one point on the taxiway can be connected to a parking spot. Please, make it possible to connect two different points to any parking and define a direction for the parking taxiway paths to make these common types of parkings work correctly!

This would be great, because the ATR-72 has to park into the wind and doesn’t get pushed back, just taxi straight out. I’m not familiar with other aircraft, but its very common setup in New Zealand for the ATRs.
Also having the option to have multiple angles to park, commonly up to 4 directions.

We can already remove pushbacks from a specific parking type (Ramp_Medium) etc with Service XMLs. But this gets limited with big airports, because we run out of options for different services as there is a limited amount of Parking Types.

Hopefully the Apron Control system allows for this per parking spot.

I’ve been using TaxiwayParking with 2 TaxiwayPath connections for years in 2020.
Then using Services.xml to disable push back.

I agree this should be configurable per parking spot though, and AI understanding of this scenario needs to be improved.

Hello @WildLynxAir

I think this is a duplicate of this one:
PLEASE VOTE: Stands/Ramps/Gates “Drive-Thru” style - Ideas - MSFS DevSupport

No reason to duplicate this for MSFS 2024 are most ideas are still applicable.

I’ll close this one if that’s okay with you.

Regards,
Sylvain

Yes, it seems to be the same idea. But that was created two years ago and has not got attention, even though this type of parkings are very common and should be available and also working for ATC and AI planes.

The reason I posted it now is that the SDK people in the DEV Q&A yesterday responded to my chat question about it and asked me to post it as an idea. They did not seem to be aware of the previous post… So please, let it stay if possible. We need to get these working…

Creating a duplicate idea will not help in that regard.
It just adds confusion and split the votes. Bumping the original to get more attention is more likely to work.

Ok, so close this one then. I hope that you are right and it gets attention.
