Bug description:
UV maps are shifted and not alingned to where they should be. This causes double lines, and can show unwanted other textures which are on teh same UV Map
Repro steps: Place 2020 package in 24 community folder
Hello Boris. Haven’t had the chance to test it on 1.2.7.0, but I am now on 1.2.8.0 and it has not been fixed as you can see in the screenshots attached.
Just curious if there’s been any movement on this issue. I’ve noticed it several times in my latest project. It’s the worst kind of bug to track down, as it seems completely random when it will occur. I’ve had both aprons and polygons randomly change their texture scaling and orientation. Just this morning, I built a version of KPDX and sent it to my Community folder. In the sim, the scaling and texture coordinates of many polygons were completely different from what I had set. I then loaded the same project into the editor, and they were fine.
I sent them some of my materials that are shifting in 2024 and they were able to reproduce the issue. Boris told me he would keep me updated once he knows more so I assume it is thankfully being looked into.
Adding my 2 cents here: When doing R&D with aprons and displacement map materials in MSFS2024 (still mostly undocumented in the SDK) I noticed that it’s impossible to properly align textures with aprons if you want to stitch various tiles together.
Even when stretched to a rectangular polygon, the textures never align 100% with the rectangle, which is quite a problem is you don’t have a tiled texture and the repetition kicks in a few pixels too early.
This gets worse when rectangle aprons have a rotation. The rotation will never line up with the texture on all 4 sides. No matter if the texture has the same rotation or not.
