The vegetation polygon biome overrides for both Scrub and ScrubSmall are no longer selectable in the SU2 beta. If these poly types already exist in the scenery, you can copy the data from that polygon and paste it to a new one as a work-around.
Can confirm Scrub, ScrubSmall and Scrub_Instead_Of_Trees are missing from the Biome override.
When loaded via an pre SU2 Beta Scenery.xml the Polygon still loads and renders as expected, but the Biome override is not shown in the UI (shown as empty\default).
Also Scrub, ScrubSmall and Scrub_Instead_Of_Trees are missiing from the list of aviable Biome overrides.
I think Scrub_Instead_Of_Trees missing may be intentional as that (as far as I have seen) has always been missing in 2024. Looking at the XML in 2020, it’s the exact same thing as Scrub, so I assume it was just a duplicate. That or it is misconfigured in 2020. Visually the two types seem to be the same.
No Scrub_Instead_Of_Trees was for sure aviable in 2020 and 2024, it was just not easy to find in that unsortet list.
I jused it in 2020 and in 2024 with <=SU1.
Interesting. Did it have a visual difference between the two for you (in 2024)? My experience in 2020 was that it was the same. Obviously never tested that in 2024 as I thought it was removed. I know it wasn’t in the original release because it replaced everything using it with the default trees for the area and I had to do a XML work-around for it.
I’m not in the SU2 beta. But a question here is: does the fs-base-biomes now depend on the hard-drive-stored folder, or is it using the streamed fs-base-biomes. In SU1, it uses the hard-drive-stored.
There has been some changes on the biomes available by default and these biomes were re-edited, including their name.
There is a fallback system so the deprecated biome names will be mapped to a corresponding new one.
However, the documentation and Scenery Editor are yet to be updated as well.
The Scenery Editor will leave the biome name in the xml unchanged when saving your scenery so this should not cause regressions, and a fix is planned for Sim Update 3.

The Biome override does now show Scrub (deprecated) for my polygons, and it is falling back to whatever the equivalent is, however I am unclear on what biomes are now the replacement for these deprecated biomes.
Can confirm, Scrub and Scrub_Instead_Of_Trees shows now as deprecated when loading old Projects (smalScrub not tested).
So there is no way to influence this anymore?
Using SU3 it should be the case.

Unfortunately, there have been too many changes, so there is no equivalent biome for the deprecated one.
You will need to go through the new list to find the appropriate biome to use.
I think this might be a misunderstanding? It does show as deprecated now in SU3, which is the intended result, correct? Thus I think this is working as it should.
