Why do I get a CTD when I hit build and have a modelLib in the scenery?

This only started happening with the latest version of MSFS and SDK. The
program crashes to desktop every time I try and build an airport scenery, new
or older, that contains a uniquename_modelLib file. I tried to create a new
simple airport without the modelLib and a CTD does not happen. As soon as I
added a *_modelLib, even blank without an object in it, it CRASHes. Not once
in a while, but every time.

You will be later asked to provide the team the crash dump and/or the project
crashing the game, In the meantime, have you tried to compile your project
with the fspackagetool? Could be more verbose than a ctd (Also hope you are
creating the project and its AssetGroup within the project editor and not with
some copy/paste in notepad )

Hello sir; big fan of your videos, and thankful for your help. It happens to
all my projects that have a modelLib. I even tested with a brand new airport.
First I created a simple airport without the modelLib and it seemed to compile
properly. Then I added the asset group as usual. (I have done over 30 airports
see MazerMart on flightsim.to) Perhaps it is my GPU
driver? But it happened with the latest updated version of SDK.?? I have not
tried the fspackagetool as I am not aware how to do so. I also do create the
AssetGroup from using the add assetgroup… etc and am not copy and pasting
anything from notepad. Thanks

Hello @MazerMart , Did you try to remove all your assets from the modellib
folder? Same issue? As we were unable to reproduce this behavior, we will need
a crash dump file (see section 2)
here) and the project in a private comment (see section 3)

I made sure my community folder was empty and created a new airport project.
First I created one without modellib and received a message about “ingestion”,
whatever that is. It asked me if I understand and to check as understood. I do
not but checked anyway. I assume it could not find any assets. However, it did
not CTD. Then I added an asset cyes_ModelLib, saved and hit built. It crashed
immediately. (same as others) I used Registry Editor to find the directory for
the dump, but I don’t understand how to find the exact dump required, and make
it number 2 type (full). I could use some extra direction on how to do the
dump. See image of my local dump directory. :slight_smile:

Experiencing similar issues with CTD when building. If I build with a new
scenery project before adding any assets, thats OK. But a CTD every time I
build after adding assets. Fortunately doing a Save seems to update the
project packages without the need for a build.

Thank you. I do appreciate the help, however, being new to this process it is
about as clear to me as mud. How do I create "key"s? Do I need to be in
notepad or something. I see no way of editing or creating as asked. Maybe I’m
a visual learner. Any videos available on the net? Once I create this file
with keys, do I recreate the ctd again? Will it automatically go to that
location? ?? :slight_smile:

Ingestion has to do with creating the appropriate stuff needed for “ingestion”
into the Marketplace. I assume you are creating a project for sale in the
Marketplace?

Hi Boris… I am lost trying to get the dump. I am not a programmer; do not
know coding etc, so unfortunately, I need more specifics on how to create the
dump. Once I have the file, I can use wetransfer to send it, or attach it…
whatever. But this problem continues to happen and I have tried various
things. I get no warnings, just CTD… every time I hit “Build”. Thanks in
