Bug description:
I’ve been working on KMSN for three days. Always when I load MSFS in Developer Mode, the airport is the “old” version. I had noticed that Bing Maps had a newer version but never paid attention to the aerial on the World Hub, so I don’t know if it changed since I first loaded the airport. Today I noticed the “new” version is shown in the World Hub website. It is my understanding that the airport version shown in the World Hub is the “correct” version (and it is the one I’d like to be working with). So, now that the project is fairly well along, how do I load the “new” version in Developer Mode so I can edit to that version?

I know this has to be related to the issue already reported with different aerials showing at different times, but this had been consistent and is a potential problem since I’ve been working with the “old” version of the airport for some time. This issue seems like a variation on what has already been reported, but I thought it might be yet another symptom of the bug and it is a problem that I must figure out but don’t know how to do it.

World Hub “New” Version:

Developer Mode “Old” Version:

The “new” version also shows up in the World Map:

But the old version shows up when the “Fly” button is clicked:

Here is the current FAA airport diagram:

Repro steps:
Load KMSN in World Hub, then load KMSN in Developer Mode within MSFS. Compare.

Nope, according to Nicolas, it’s an unrelated issue.

I think it matches pretty much what I reported for EDAP, AYAE, MMMY, but I also think that every additional example might help Asobo to locate the issue.

EDIT: correction, your case is at least different in the regard that you get different results on the World Map and in the in-game world. That’s new, I think!

I definitely feel your pain. In the cases I mentioned, I chose to submit my changes anyway, but I feel the obligation to update the affected airports as soon as the new aerials show up for me.

For the time being, my new modus operandi is to make sure that the World Hub image matches my in-game aerial exactly before I touch any airfield. If I’m not sure, I’ll stay away.

Yes, every example might help which is why I reported this in this way.

Yes, I will pay more attention to the airport showing on the World Hub from this point on!

I had read your post yesterday, before I noticed the issue I’m having last night. It was very helpful and it certainly is an important World Hub issue…and thanks for your feedback on this post!

Today I removed the World Hub KMSN that I’ve been working on from my Community folder and fired up the sim. I wanted to see which version the simulator is using. I found it is, in fact, the newer (correct) version.

Later: OK, so I downloaded KMSN from the World Hub (second time) and loaded it in Developer mode. It is the OLD airport.

It’s certainly because the WH retrieves the latest real time Bing map data whereas the dev mode only shows the Bing Imagery the sim has probably not updated as frequently or most optimistically as frequently as the WU’s.
