Reflections are broken and reversed. Texture is not visible

Bug description:

Reflections are reversed and do not display the texture correctly. Reflections not showing what is in front of the glass but what it seems to be 90 or 180 degrees from it.

@FlyingRaccoon @Boris @Yasmine I did not want to tag you originally but seems like this bug has not been logged and it has been a few days since this was reported and it just keeps getting buried at the bottom of the forum. I do not want this to go unnoticed. Customer will see our package in this state at launch.

It was also reported here before my post and it does not show the bug has been logged in that post either. MSFS 2020 airplanes - Metals and other interior materials are always reflecting exteriors reflections

@vpilotfs,

I spent some time with our Lead Technical Artist on this issue and we noticed that the normals of the building you are showing in the screenshots above look wrong - they looked wrong in 2020 already, but they look even worse in 2024 which means there is an issue on our side indeed.

Would it be possible for you to send a Max or Blender file with this building as well as the corresponding glTF export so that we can investigate more deeply?

Still the same by mounting in the community. Me, my colleagues, or people who I talk to who purchased it do not have the live version yet.

@FlyingRaccoon is it possible to force the live streamed version at least to our dev gamertags? This way we could check if the issue has been fixed. Thank you

This one eludes me. I don’t have the issue either with the package you provided on 1.1.9.0 and 1.0.88.0.
And you say your colleagues have the same issue on different machines?

Something we can try is for you to take screenshots of the different channels:

If you can take screenshots in a similar position to the ones you provided already, and for each of these channels, this would help.

He noticed right away. :blush:

We made some progress on this.
Normals are indeed inconsistent and the affected face seems to differ from one user to the next.
Anyway, we now have a reproduction that we can work on.
